Letter from ICAB President to PeopleSoft User Group Leaders
User Group Leaders
Last week Jim Whalen and I attended the combined company kickoff in Redwood Shores, CA. The purpose of our visit was to participate in the kickoff and spend some time with Oracle discussing the future of PeopleSoft user groups.
First, let me share a few things from the kickoff. Oracle’s message was very positive overall to PeopleSoft and JD Edwards customers.
Development of PeopleSoft Platforms
Oracle committed to finish Enterprise 8.9 and begin work on Enterprise 9.0.
Oracle committed to finish EnterpriseOne 8.11 and begin work on EnterpriseOne 8.12.
Support of PeopleSoft Platforms
Oracle committed to support PeopleSoft and JD Edwards products at least thru 2013.
Oracle committed to support Enterprise One version Ex. and 8.0 thru February 2007
Oracle committed to support all other software versions based on the previous PeopleSoft retirement policies
Support of PeopleSoft Enabling Technologies
Oracle committed to continue to support existing PeopleSoft hardware platforms
Oracle committed to continue to support IBM and Microsoft database technologies
Oracle committed to continue to support IBM and BEA application services
New Combined Product Superset – “Fusion”
Development of a new “Standards based” product supporting the best features, flows, and usability traits of all products
Committed to making upgrades seamless from existing Oracle, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards applications
Individual Fusion applications planned for availability in 2007; Product line maturing in 2008.
As you can see, the support news is positive. Also, you might notice that Oracle is
calling out the product line using PeopleSoft and JD Edwards branding. The next several months will take us
on a new journey with a new partner. Good luck to all!
